Description

This book is a comprehensive philosophical exploration of Being (Sat) through the ancient Indian concept of Tadekam mdash; ldquo; That One rdquo; from the Nasadiya Sukta of the Rig Veda. With careful clarification of the notion lsquo;tadekam, rsquo; it begins with a brief exposition of the development of metaphysics (Tadekasastra = coming of Tadekam) in the Vedas and the Upanisads with an interpretation of Tadekasastra as a science concerned with Tadekam (going of Tadekam), and then proceeding to encounter it (coming and going of Tadekam) in finite being which conceals and reveals Tadekam. In the work, an attempt is made to creatively interpret, reconstruct, replace, and transpose a few Western metaphysical terms and reflections with Indian ones aimed at showing the basic unity, equality, and complementarity of Indian and Western ontologies (while being different at the same time in several aspects).
This work serves as a philosophical and spiritual synthesis, offering a deep bridge between reason and mysticism, East and West. It would be highly useful for students, teachers, and scholars of philosophy, theology, and comparative religion, especially those interested in Vedanta, metaphysics, or dialogue between Indian and Western thought. It also benefits seminarians, spiritual seekers, and readers wishing to explore the foundations of Being and consciousness from an Indian metaphysical lens rooted in Christian scholarly reflection.
