Description
The work of this Session was carried out in accordance with the ‘roadmap’ laid down in the Instrumentum laboris. In the light of the progress made, the Synthesis Report does not repeat or reiterate all the contents of the Instrumentum laboris; rather, it gives new impetus to the questions and themes we considered to be priorities. It is not a final document, but an instrument at the service of ongoing discernment. It is structured in three parts. The first presents the practice and understanding of synodality and its theological underpinning. The second deals with all those involved in the life and mission of the Church and their relationships with one another. In the third, synodality is presented mainly as a set of processes and as a network of bodies enabling exchange between the Churches and dialogue with the world. In each of the three parts, individual chapters bring together convergences, matters for consideration and proposals that emerged from the dialogue.
