Description

This is a 'Diary' painstakingly written by Saint Faustina Kowalska in response to Jesus' own directive: "My daughter, be diligent in writing down every sentence I tell you concerning my mercy, because this is meant for a great number of souls who will profit from it". As such, this book brings you firsthand various particulars concerning the fast spreading devotion to the "Divine Mercy" as well as of the life and mission of this simple youngster who came from a poor but pious peasant family in Poland. Translated from the original, i.e. Polish, this book brings to the fore the beauty of God's saving love working in and through every fibre of Faustina's very being—her joy at encountering the Lord, the suffering she endured precisely for the sake of Jesus' all-encompassing love and the state of purity of spirit she attained in the process. The entries in this diary bring out, on the one hand, the significance of the mercy and compassion that Jesus has for every sinner, every human person, and, on the other, the deep spirituality of humble Faustina, the deep union she shared with the Lord.
