REFLECTIONS ON VATICAN II – 35 VOLUMES

Pope Francis has asked Catholics worldwide to prepare for the Jubilee Year 2025 by studying the documents of the Second Vatican Council, especially its four constitutions: 

-Dei Verbum (Dogmatic Constitution on Divine Revelation) 

-Sacrosanctum Concilium (Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy) 

-Lumen Gentium (Dogmatic Constitution on the Church) 

-Gaudium et Spes (Constitution on the Church in the Modern World 

Cardinal Rino Fisichella –  Pro-prefect for the Section of New Evangelization of the Dicastery for Evangelization said that in order to help local churches in their catechetical, human and especially Christian formation paths, and to give younger people the opportunity to know and rediscover the central contents of the council, the dicastery published a series of 35 small volumes titled, "Council Notebooks”. 

These volumes serve as trustworthy companions, introducing readers to the theological dynamism of the Council and aiding in understanding the critical elements discussed amid the often-impassioned discussions. The Council Notebooks encourage a deeper grasp of the Council's historical and theological significance –  

Volume 1: The Second Vatican Council 
Volumes 2-5: Dei Verbum 
Volumes 6-15: Sacrosanctum Concilium 
Volumes 16-25: Lumen Gentium 
Volumes 26-35: Gaudium Et Spes 

The Council Notebooks from Italian have been translated into English and published by the Conference of Catholic Bishops India ( CCBI )
