This work identifies the causes of socio-political and economic cancers that weaken African societies with the view towards suggesting a curing philosophy. The author drawing on the thoughts of Danish philosopher, Søren Kierkegaard, proposes a path toward a cure through the cultivation of subjectivity, where individuals can rise above blind loyalties to the faceless group/crowd and begin to take responsibility within and for their communities. It will also trigger the decolonisation of the mind by letting Africans rethink the relation of the self to the community.
