Description

In the situation of ldquo;a change of epoch, rdquo; Pope Francis looks with hope towards theologians and expects theology ldquo;to confront profound cultural transformations rdquo; (Ad theologiam promovendam, no. 1) and undergo a ldquo;courageous cultural revolution rdquo; within itself through ldquo;a culture of dialogue and encounter rdquo; (ATP 4). Indian theologians have tried to promote such a culture of dialogue and encounter within the Church in and through the papers in the volume, Synodality: An Indian Theological Reflection, which we can also rechristen as ldquo;a culture of synodality. rdquo; The seven papers focus on the Church rsquo;s journeying with and listening to all sections of people, within and outside of the Church, especially to women, youth, and civil society and engaging in ecumenical and inter-religious dialogue and developing a public theology.
