The past few decades have witnessed Church-related controversies. In recent years, the Church in India has also appeared in these controversies. This is the context that prompted the Indian Theological Association to reflect on the crisis of power, money and sex in the Indian Church, with a desire to address these issues seriously and help make the Church in India credible in its witnessing mission.
Indian theologians have a vital role to play in the effort of the Church to regain its credibility. It is their task to prophetically interpret the signs and trends in the light of the Word of God and provide proper orientations. In realising this responsibility, the 43rd Annual Conference of the Indian Theological Association in 2021 reflected on the theme "The Church in India: Credibility and Witness." This book is a compilation of the scholarly papers presented at the conference along with the proceedings.
